time to move to berlin

It was a mass movement of tenants, a majority of the city’s renters, which forced the government into action. This wasn’t some benevolent SocDems who did it out of their love for the proletariat, they had to be forced by the working class.

Organize against your landlords

DIRECT ACTION

Vandalism doesnt change the system, it just slows it down and costs money. And no costing money won’t change things either. It just goes on the national debt.

US History as taught in US public schools is entirely a product of political demands by parental groups and wariness of “controversy.” It’s written by textbook publishers who have no expertise or interest in it. They slap the names of historians on it but it’s often barely even reviewed by them. James Loewen’s “Lies My Teacher Told Me” goes into detail on all of this.

It means that the history people get at the college level reflects the real products of historians and their work, whereas high school and lower public school history is an assortment of myths and pap.

All of this is why “The historians don’t talk about [marginalized group]! They won’t tell you [things historians routinely research]!” is very annoying. And inaccurate.

The public school system won’t talk about [marginalized group]. The “concerned parents” who influence what kind of textbooks are purchased won’t tell you [things historians routinely research].

Students often have a period of shock and backlash/emotional reaction when they take college level history and find out how much the public school stuff is nationalistic mythology. But we can’t do anything about it. It’s a democracy and activist parents and school boards get to decide these things.
